Longines proudly timed the first Sunday race of the White Turf St. Moritz, one of the top events in the Engadine winter calendar
The Swiss watchmaker Longines was delighted to time the first Sunday race of the White Turf St. Moritz, for which the brand is Official Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. As part of its partnership with the St. Moritz Racing Association, Longines was also the Title Partner of the featured horse race of the day: the Grand Prix Longines, which is a preparatory race for the Longines 79. Grosser Preis von St. Moritz to be held on 18th February.
Nimrod ridden by Maxim Pecheur won the Grand Prix Longines, ahead of Berrahri ridden by Dayverson De Barros and Strade Kirk led by Silvia Casanova.
Since 1907, the annual White Turf St. Moritz event takes place on the frozen lake of the Graubünden renowned tourist resort during three Sundays in February. Attracting more than 30,000 visitors yearly, it is considered as the sporting and social highlight in the Engadine winter calendar. This year, the event celebrates its 111st anniversary and takes place on February 4, 11 and 18.
The Official Watch of the event is the Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision). This 41mm silvered timepiece displays a perpetual calendar and can rely on a very long battery life. With ± 5 sec. per year, this watch combines great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.
