    Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf opens the doors of her foundation in Hamburg

    On February 27, 2019, Stefanie Graf and her foundation, Children for Tomorrow, were pleased to welcome Swiss watch brand Longines in Hamburg (GER). Initiated by the German tennis legend in 1998, the institute - located at the University clinic of Hamburg Eppendorf - assists children and families who have been victims of war, persecution and violence. Stefanie Graf says: “Longines has been so generous and supportive to what is dear to my heart, my foundation Children for Tomorrow. For over 20 years we have specialized in treatment with our trauma therapy providing care to as many children as possible who have suffered through war, exile and violence.  These inner wounds are so often overlooked. Raising awareness for what these children have to endure and what is needed to heal them is the mission of Children for Tomorrow.  We want to give as many children as possible a new perspective for a healthy future.” The non-profit organization brings light to the sensitive issue of refugees and their psychological well-being. A qualified team of specialists helps the children and teenagers to overcome their traumas with different psychological treatments and activities, such as art therapy. This Wednesday, a watchmaker from Longines was present at the foundation to initiate the children to his craftsmanship. This event also gave the opportunity for Stefanie Graf and Longines to reaffirm their long lasting partnership, initiated in 2008 and celebrated last summer through the auction sale of 10 limited “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” watch sets. All proceeds were donated to Children for Tomorrow and The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, two charities founded by the two Ambassadors of Elegance.     Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Aaron Kwok unveiled Marina Bay Sands Boutique in Singapore

    Longines celebrated the relocation of its Singapore Marina Bay Sands Boutique in the presence of Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Aaron Kwok. After the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony, guests were invited into the Boutique by Singaporean actress and host, Oon Shu An to experience the Boutique and share the moment with Aaron Kwok as he commemorated his presence with a poster signing ceremony. Spanning over 1,000 square feet, the Boutique’s design strikes a balance in maintaining tradition with a modern touch. Natural marble stone was used on the façade of the Boutique, this matches the interior where clean, luminescent white walls are perfectly contrasted by the blend of lacquered wood furniture, leather and soft grey flooring. The Boutique is completed with a Heritage corner with timepieces flown in from the brand’s museum in Saint-Imier, Switzerland and an Equestrian corner which pays tribute to the brand’s involvement with the elegant sport.

    Longines dives into the HydroConquest universe during a special event in Singapore attended by Aaron Kwok

    Drawing its inspiration from the fascinating world of water sports, the HydroConquest collection combines technical excellence and traditional elegance, both distinguishing hallmarks of Longines. The Swiss watch brand chose the rooftop of The Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore, with its breathtaking views of the sea and the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, to present the emblematic sports line’s new models, which preserve the traditional style of diving watches.   A coloured ceramic insert has been added to the bezel of the new HydroConquest models. This highly technical and scratch-resistant material enhances the sporty, modern character of the watches. The HydroConquest collection is inspired by the unique requirements of scuba diving and features water-resistance to 300 metres, a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown and case back, crown protection and a double security folding clasp with integrated diving extension.    “The demand for sports watches, and especially for diving style watches, has increased significantly these past few years,” explains Walter von Känel, President of Longines. “We are delighted to introduce our new HydroConquest models with ceramic, as these watches will appeal to dynamic individuals looking for distinctive, contemporary timepieces.”   After making an appearance at the opening of the new Longines Boutique in Marina Bay Sands, Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aaron Kwok attended the HydroConquest event. The multi-talented artist shared his opinion of the new HydroConquest models. “As a watch lover, I really appreciate the bezel’s ceramic insert. These watches have a sporty silhouette and an elegant style, making them suitable for daily wear and appropriate for all occasions. The new HydroConquest models’ fresh look complements all attire”   Besides the current collection with an aluminum insert on the bezel, the new HydroConquest models’ ceramic insert is available in several colors to adorn the wrists of all water sports enthusiasts. These models come in blue, black or grey, with a dial that matches the bezel’s ceramic insert and rubber strap, while the metal version combines polished and brushed steel for a truly impressive finish. Available in two sizes (41 mm and 43 mm), these HydroConquest timepieces offer the choice of three hands and a calendar or a chronograph.

    Longines unveils the new Conquest V.H.P. advertising campaign

    On Thursday 15 February 2018, Japanese artistic gymnast and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Kohei Uchimura joined the Swiss watchmaking brand in its elegant Boutique in the district of Ginza in Tokyo for the launch of his new Conquest V.H.P. advertising campaign. On this occasion, Kohei Uchimura proudly signed the new campaign visual and was given the opportunity to discover the numerous brand’s collections on display in the boutique with Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing. Kohei also expressed how “hugely honored I am to be part of the Longines family, and I believe that the values close to my heart perfectly match with those dear to Longines.” Considered by many as the best gymnast of all time – a discipline in which Longines has been involved since 1912 – Kohei Uchimura is perfectly in line with Longines’ motto “Elegance is an Attitude”, it was therefore natural for the winged hourglass brand to welcome him in the Longines Family of Ambassadors of Elegance. On the same day, the Conquest V.H.P. was presented to a selected group of invited media at the Temporary Contemporary Gallery in Tsukishima, Tokyo. This model represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

    The 2017 Fashion Excellence Award goes to the Longines DolceVita

    Longines was awarded the title of „2017 Fashion Excellence” for its lady collection Longines DolceVita. This is the first award ever granted to Longines by Twój Styl (Your Style) – the leader in the market of upscale magazines for women in Poland. The official gala was held on Friday, Feb. 2 in Warsaw. Fashion Excellence trophies for the best products of the year were awarded by Twój Styl (Your Style)  for the 19th year running. The Jury including Polish fashion stars and celebrities decided to reward the Longines DolceVita collection  in the „Exclusive Watches” category. Fashion Excellence Award by Twój Styl (Your Style) is a precious award for brands which feature quality, prestige and admiration among the clients on the Polish market. The Longines DolceVita collection impressed the Jury with modern elegance and timeless style of women who have made charm a way of life.

    The Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano trophy is on display in the Longines Boutique in Santiago

    The trophy, which will be lift by the winner of the Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano, is now showcased in the Longines Boutique in Santiago. The race will take place in Viña del Mar, Chile, on 5 March. This itinerant competition is organized by the Organización Latinoamericana de Fomento del Pura Sangre de Carrera (OSAF), every year in a different country of the subcontinent. In addition of being the Title Partner, Longines is proud to be the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of this event, which is the most important international Group 1 horse race in Latin America. The same day, the Swiss watch brand will reward the most elegant lady and the most elegant man attending the races with the Longines Prize for Elegance.

    Longines’ history revisited throughout the whole year 2017

    Longines has been based at Saint-Imier in Switzerland since 1832. In its early days, the firm was run by Auguste Agassiz and was a “comptoir” or trading office like many others in the area. The watches were produced under the “établissage” system, whereby watchmakers worked at home. In 1867, Ernest Francillon, Agassiz’s nephew and successor decided to abandon this production method and he brought together the different stages that go toward making a watch under one roof. The Longines factory was born. From then on, the factory in Saint-Imier steadily developed and produced many horological creations that gained international recognition. In 1889, Francillon patented a trademark comprising the name Longines and its now famous winged hourglass. Longines also made a name of itself in sports timekeeping and designed timing equipment that gained the brand a worldwide reputation. Using its expertise, the brand established a network of advantageous links with the world of sport timekeeping which enabled it to offer its skilled services to various prestigious sports ever since. This year, Longines is celebrating its 185th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, the Swiss watch brand will publish a new anecdote each day related to Longines’ rich history. From January 1st to December 31st, 365 short stories related to the history of Longines will be outveiled daily.     New boutique opening in Macau

    Longines and DFS Group celebrated the opening of the new Longines Boutique at T Galleria by DFS, City of Dreams in Macau. The Longines Ambassador of Elegance Chi-Ling Lin and Walter Von Känel, President of Longines, together with DFS representatives inaugurated this new store, which spans more than 50 m2. The new Boutique is located in the newly expanded Watches and Jewelry Hall of the shopping mall. The grand opening also marked the launch of The Longines Master Collection DFS Special Edition. This watch displays a special dial with a pattern inspired by the unique architecture of Venice’s iconic landmark, The Doge’s Palace. The charming canal city is the home of the first DFS store in Europe.

    The Bucherer boutique in St. Moritz celebrates the 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships timed by Longines

    To mark the upcoming FIS Alpine World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017, taking place from February 6-19, 2017, the Bucherer boutique in St. Moritz is currently showcasing a special display, including the Conquest St. Moritz, an exclusive timepiece available for ladies and gents, specially created to mark the partnership between Longines and the Swiss alpine resort. The hints of yellow and blue on the watch’s hands, dial and flange are reminiscent of the iconic St. Moritz logo, which is engraved on the back of the case. Longines’ first involvement in alpine skiing dates back to 1924, when the brand time a military race in his hometown St. Imier, Switzerland. From the first broken-wire system to the modern electronic equipment, Longines has initiated a number of technological innovations to meet the challenges of each era. Relying on this heritage, the brand continues today to put its know-how at the service of the snow arena as the Official Timekeeper of the FIS Alpine World Cup season, and of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, taking place this year in St. Moritz.
