    Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters

    From 11 to 13 October, the Chinese capital hosted the 2019 edition of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters, gathering the best national and international riders in the famous Bird’s Nest. As the Title Partner and the Official Timekeeper of this spectacular event, Longines was delighted to time the remarkable performance of Penelope Leprevost (FR) on Cenai who claimed the Longines Grand Prix, which rounded off the weekend. Daniel Deusser (GER) on Leonidas and Zhang Bin (CN) on Fetti Cash completed the podium. Chinese actress and Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Zhao Liying, who joined the event as a special guest, presented the winner with a Longines timepiece to acknowledge her great victory. The 2019 Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters were a unique opportunity for the brand to highlight the Official Watch of the event, a new model from one of its most emblematic lines, The Longines Master Collection.     49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2019

    As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart (GER), Longines was proud to honour French gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and American gymnast Samuel Mikulak with the ultimate prize outside of competition: the Longines Prize for Elegance. All participants in the individual men and women allaround finals held respectively on Thursday 10 October and Friday 11 October were nominated for this elegant contest. The winners impressed the whole jury beyond technical considerations for the grace, beauty, harmony and above all, the elegance of their performance, a value cherished by Longines. They both received elegant Longines timepieces, as well as a trophy and a cheque.    In Stuttgart, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Rainer Eckert, Brand Manager Longines Germany, Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Catalina Ponor and Fabian Hambuechen, Women's and Men's Artistic Ambassadors for the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The jury's individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgement reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts' performances.   Besides, Longines was delighted to support its Ambassador of Elegance, Swiss gymnast Giulia Steingruber. She finished eighteen among the world's best Artistic gymnasts in the individual All-around Final.   Last but not least, she was seen wearing the Official Watch of the event, a model from the Conquest Classic collection featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond indexes. This line skilfully combines modernity with the refinement that defines the brand. Elegant and sleek, this latest creation is both feminine and boldly contemporary.

    Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Longines Prix de l'Opéra, Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines

    On Sunday 6 October 2019, in ParisLongchamp (France), Waldgeist led by Pierre-Charles Boudot crossed first the finishing line of the 2,400-metre Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, rewarding the ten thousands of spectators with a truly thrilling race day. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the event, the Swiss watch brand Longines was also proud to present the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines, won by Glass Slippers led by Tom Eaves and the Prix de l’Opéra Longines, which was claimed by Villa Marina ridden by Olivier Peslier. To celebrate their outstanding performance, Longines rewarded the jockey, trainer and owner of both winning horses with elegant Longines timepieces.   For the 9th consecutive year, Longines was proud to be associated to all races held during Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend.     Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final - CSIO Barcelona

    As the FEI's Top Partner, the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines was proud to participate in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM Final, which offered four days of breathtaking competitions held at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. In Its quality of Official Timekeeper, Longines timed the great victory of Team Ireland comprised of Peter Moloney on Chianti's Champion, Paul O’Shea on Skara Glen's Machu Picchu, Darragh Kenny on Balou du Reventon and Cian O’Connor on PSD Final. Belgium’s representatives took the second place followed by Team Sweden. This competition marked the end of an exciting 2019 season made up of fourteen legs across Europe, USA, Canada and UAE, during which the teams earned the qualifying points to get their tickets for the grand Final.   On the occasion of this world-class event, Longines was delighted to welcome a very special guest, its Ambassador of Elegance Simon Baker who took part in a show jumping event for the very first time.  He witnessed the sports achievements of Team Spain made up Alberto Marquez Galobardes on Ucello Massuere, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar on Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot, Santiago Nunez Riva on Valentino de Hus Z and Sergio Alvarez Moya on Jet Run, who jumped to victory in front of an euphoric crowd in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM Final - Challenge Cup. Team Netherlands secured second place ahead of the Brazilian representatives.   Over the weekend, the spectators had the opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event, a model from the iconic HydroConquest collection. This line combines classic elegance and watchmaking excellence, both distinguishing hallmarks of the winged hourglass brand. Drawing inspiration from the fascinating world of water sports, the pieces from this collection display a bezel enhanced by a ceramic coloured insert, which matches the colour of the dial and brings them a modernized design and sporty silhouette.

    Longines FEI Jumping World Cup North American League - Rancho Murieta

    On Saturday 5 October 2019, American rider Cook Karl riding Caillou finished first at the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League in Sacramento, California.  Swail Conor (IRL) on Koss van Heiste finished second ahead of Thomas Guy (NZL) on Jonkheer Z. On Sunday 6 October 2019, American rider Alex Granato riding Carlchen W finished first at the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League in Columbus, Ohio. Compatriots Margie Goldstein-Engle on Dicas finished second ahead pf Nicole Simpson on Akuna Mattata. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League series, Longines was proud to grand elegant Longines timpieces to Cook Karl and Alex Granato as a reward of their great performances.

    Longines inaugurates its very first Boutique in Romania

    Strenghtening its presence in Eastern Europe, the Swiss watch brand Longines celebrated today the grand Opening of its very first Boutique in Romania. Located in the famous “Baneasa Shopping City” mall in Bucarest and spread across 39 square meters, the store displays a large selection of Longines timepieces, including the most iconic watches of the brand as well as its latest models.    The inauguration of the Longines boutique took place in the presence of Walter von Känel, Longines President, Arthur Popa, CEO de Baneasa Shopping City, Ionut Tanase, Longines Brand Manager at B&B Collection, Dmitri Dmitriev, Longines’ Regional Sales Manager, and Mr. and Mrs. Binda, owners of the B&B Collection company.     Longines Global Champions Tour of New York

    Gathering the best international riders and horses in the world’s most beautiful cities for nineteen legs, the Longines Global Champions Tour ended, for the very first time, in a blaze of glory in the vibrant city New York. On Saturday, Ben Maher on Explosion W shined in the weekend’s highlight competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of New York. In recognition of his great performance, the winner received an elegant timepiece from the hands of Charles Villoz, Longines Vice President Sales and Andre Agassi, Ambassador of Elegance for the brand. In addition, as New York marked the end of the season, the results obtained by the riders enabled the establishment of the final 2019 overall Longines Global Champions Tour ranking. He was also officially crowned winner of the 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour, while Pieter Devos (BEL) and Daniel Deusser (GER) secured second and third place respectively.     As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship, Longines was proud to time the victories of Jason Foley on Rockwell RC, Katrin Eckermann on Chao Lee and Seamus Hughes-Kennedy on Cuffesgrange Cavadora in the 5 year-old, 6 year-old and 7 year-old category respectively.     37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2019

    As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2019 in Baku, Longines was proud to celebrate the outstanding performances of its Ambassadors of Elegance, the twin sisters Arina and Dina Averina. The latter took part in five events at the World Championships and won five medals, 4 gold, including the coveted individual All-around title. The former finished second in the Ball and Individual All-around finals. The Official Watch of the event is a ladies model from The Longines Master Collection Blue Edition, which displays a sunray blue dial with diamond indexes matching its blue alligator strap.   In addition, Longines was proud to present the Longines Prize for Elegance to USA’s Laura Zeng. She distinguished herself from all participants of the all-around finals for the grace, beauty, harmony, and above all elegance of her performance, a value cherished by Longines. The jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Benjamin Aeby, International Sponsorship & Events Manager, and Yana Batyrshina, former rhythmic gymnast and ambassador of the event. Set up in 1997, the Longines Prize for Elegance takes the form of a trophy representing a gymnast in movement created especially for Longines by the Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Gerber. In addition, the winner received an elegant Longines timepiece and a cheque.   Longines and gymnastics For over thirty years, the brand has been the Official Partner and Timekeeper for artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions organized by the International Gymnastics Federation.     On Sunday 15 September 2019, America’s Elizabeth Madden and her mount Garant earned first place at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League in New York. American rider Karl Cook on Caillou took second place followed by his compatriot Katherine A. Dinan on Brego R’n B. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the series, the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines was pleased to present the winner with an elegant watch.
