On Saturday 22 December 2018, Great Britain’s rider Robert Whitaker on El Wee Widge earned first place on home soil at the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM during Olympia, the London International Horse Show. Laura Kraut (USA) on Confu arrived second followed by Holly Smith (GBR) on Claddagh Iroko. The winner of this exciting competition was granted an elegant Longines watch by the Swiss watchmaking brand, which is the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League.
Longines celebrated the opening of its new Singapore boutique at Wisma Atria in the presence of Chi Ling Lin, Longines Ambassador of Elegance. Spanning over 1,500 square feet, it is the largest Longines boutique in Singapore. Watch collectors, members of the press and invited guests witnessed the opening ceremony and joined in the celebrations.
The Swiss watch brand Longines was delighted to be the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the brand new Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix, which took place today in the magical Czech capital Prague. Gathering the 16 winners of each 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix leg and their best horses for the delight of the numerous spectators in attendance, this thrilling event perfectly combined remarkable sports performance with spectacular entertainment.
On this occasion, Australian rider Edwina Tops-Alexander on California emerged victorious, thus becoming the first Champion amongst the champions. A resounding win that is truly worthy of the claim, “When an historic victory turns you into a legend”. Ludger Beerbaum (GER) on Casello and Frank Schuttert (NED) on Chianti’s Champion secured second and third place respectively. In recognition of their great performance, they were granted elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Walter von Känel, Longines President.
As the Official Timekeeper of the Global Champions League Super Cup taking place on Sunday, we are looking forward to witnessing Jessica Springsteen, Longines Friend of the Brand, compete for the Miami Celtics.
Over the weekend, Longines has highlighted the Official Watch of the event, the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. Displaying a silver dial, this timepiece houses an ultra-precise movement (+- 5 seconds/year), as well as a perpetual calendar. This collection as well as many more are showcased in the Longines Boutique located in the heart of the O2 Arena.
Longines Global Champions Tour
As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Global Champions Tour since 2013, the Swiss watch brand Longines is looking forward to the newly 2019 season, starting in Doha in March. The global circuit, which travels from The Americas to Europe and Asia, will include Canada and Stockholm for the first time.
On December 13 and 14, Longines was proud to take part for the fifth consecutive year in the Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2018 as the Official Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. The tournament was won by Team Tonino Lamborghini Residences Dubai players, Maxi Malacalza, Rashid Albwardy and Saoud Khoory, who were presented an elegant Longines watch.
The Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2018 was a unique opportunity for the winged hourglass brand to present the Official Watch of the competition: a sporty model from the Conquest V.H.P. “very High Precision” collection.

The 2018 Longines World’s Best Racehorse and Longines World’s Best Horse Race Ceremony will be held on 23 January 2019 in London, England. For the first time, Longines and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) have selected The Landmark as the host site.
The ceremony, now in its sixth year, will honour the three highest-rated horses in the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings as well as the Longines World’s Best Horse Race. In the previous edition, Arrogate (USA) was celebrated as the 2017 Longines World’s Best Racehorse, while the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which was won by Enable (GB), won the title of 2017 Longines World’s Best Horse Race.%break%The Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are established by international handicappers according to the performance of the horses in top races. The highest rated race is determined by averaging the rankings of the first four placed horses. The trophy celebrating the Longines World’s Best Racehorse is a crystal vase named Equus, whereas the Longines World’s Best Horse Race trophy represents a proud horse head. Every year, the trophies are engraved with the name of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse and Horse Race respectively, and the representatives of the winners are presented with an elegant Longines watch.
